TAELS BoD met today and decided to postpone our conference on “Metaphors of Marginality and Otherness” to the end of February 2021 (tentatively February 20-21). The decision was made upon requests from some of our international participants who expressed concern over the need to show a valid PCR test in Tunisian airports and the requirement to lock down for one week upon their arrival to Tunis. Furthermore, the Covid-19 statistics announced by the Tunisian Ministry of health in the last week or so do not seem to confirm any improvement in the pandemic situation in the foreseeable future. We think that postponing the conference for three months will give us better chances to host it in better conditions.We are aware that this announcement may cause disturbance to our guests’ plans but we are also very concerned with everyone’s safety in these hard times. We apologize for the inconvenience and we wish you safety and well being.
